Welcome to our wedding celebrations in the Dominican Republic! We are so excited to share this special chapter of our lives with you. Our wedding marks a celebration of over seven years of love, growth, and unwavering support, and the beginning of everything that lies ahead.

Our story began back in 2018 at the Diner at the University of Maryland. Vaani introduced herself to Yash and shook his hand across the diner table, but with all the chatter around them, Yash thought her name was “Paani Shah.” Life got busy, and before we knew it, nearly half a year passed before our paths crossed again.

‍

That next meeting was completely unexpected. Vaani was visiting her roommates’ friends at Calvert Hall and somehow ended up in Yash’s dorm living room. Yash immediately remembered her from months earlier, while Vaani (embarrassingly) had forgotten they had already met and introduced herself again.

‍

As we started seeing each other more often around campus, something clicked. Vaani couldn’t help but notice Yash’s contagious laugh, and Yash was drawn to Vaani’s smile and humor. Before long, we realized we shared the same morning route to class through McKeldin Mall. Vaani began scanning the sidewalks for Yash’s blue backpack, while Yash always looked out for her classic leather boots. What started as a coincidence quickly became something we looked forward to every day.

We began eating lunch together with friends, which soon turned into long walks across campus. Throughout college, we became each other’s biggest supporters. Yash was there for Vaani’s late night lab experiments, and Vaani spent countless hours studying with Yash on the first floor of Clark Hall.

‍

From college to now, our journey has taken us around the world, from jamming out at countless concerts, to experiencing the thrill of Formula 1, to enjoying many Taco Bell runs in between. On January 6, 2025, we hiked to Laguna de los Tres at the base of Mount Fitz Roy in Patagonia, Argentina (yes, the mountain on the logo). After an eight hour trek, Yash asked Vaani to join him on the adventure of a lifetime at the top of the mountain. She said yes :)

Now, we are so excited to begin the rest of our lives together and celebrate with all of you in Punta Cana. Our wedding will be a vibrant blend of Indian traditions, set against the natural beauty of the DR. This website includes everything you’ll need to know, from travel details to event schedules, and we kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as possible.
