‍Jaggo & Mehndi

Jaggo literally means "wake up" in Punjabi and refers to a vibrant pre-wedding ritual in Punjabi/Sikh culture. Held the night before the wedding, it involves singing, dancing, and carrying decorated pots lit with candles to announce the wedding, share joy, and invite neighbors to join the festivities.

Mehndi symbolizes good luck, love, and prosperity through the application of intricate henna (mehndi) designs on the bride and female friends’ hands, accompanied by music, food, and dancing. It signifies the union and brings many blessings.

A baraat is a lively, celebratory wedding procession in South Asian traditions, where the groom travels to the wedding venue accompanied by family and friends. It signifies his journey to meet the bride, symbolizes the union of two families, and is filled with music, dancing, and dhol drums.

Wedding Ceremony

Anand Karaj, meaning "Blissful Union," is the sacred Sikh marriage ceremony introduced by Guru Amar Das. The ceremony emphasizes spiritual commitment, simplicity, and equality, replacing old rituals with a focus on shared, righteous living.

For this event, semi-formal attire is encouraged—think dressy sundresses or button-down shirts with khaki pants. Kindly note that shoes will be removed during the ceremony, and both men and women will need to cover their heads.

Airport transfers are pre-arranged transportation services that take passengers from the airport to the hotel, and vice versa. These transfers can be private, shared, or shuttle services.

Note: Any transfers included with a reservation are shared.

We recommend booking your airport transfer at least 30 days in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak travel seasons.

We highly recommend the purchase of travel insurance. Travel insurance (trip cancellation) must be purchased at the time of booking or within 48 hours of booking your trip. Your group reservation is 100% non-refundable, non-transferable, and no changes are permitted.

When filling out the forms, you are authorizing Destawed Inc. as your travel agency to process your payment on behalf of the chosen supplier. Your charge will appear on your statement from either the particular airline/supplier above, or Destawed Inc.

E-Documents are issued by the tour operator 5-7 Business days prior to travel. Once we receive the tickets we will send them to the email address on file.

Mexico Smoking & Vaping Regulations

New anti-smoking legislation in Mexico

Since January 2023, smoking is strictly prohibited in public places in Mexico. This law applies to beaches, parks, hotels, and restaurants. It is also illegal to bring electronic cigarettes or vaping devices and their solutions into Mexico. Violators may be subject to fines or detention.

Sargassum Seaweed Advisory

All foreign visitors to Quintana Roo, Mexico are required to pay a mandatory tourist tax (Visitax). This fee can be paid before arrival or during your stay, but must be paid before departing Mexico, as travelers are required to show proof of payment at the airport.

Payment Details:

Please ensure you retain a copy of your receipt, as it will be requested during departure procedures at the airport.

An environmental sanitation tax will be charged directly at the hotel.

‍ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION TAX - Los Cabos/SJDTourism Tax

This tax applies to all travellers arriving on or after September 8, 2022, and is 79.19 Mexican Pesos (approximately 3.86 USD) per room per night, regardless of occupancy. The tax will be collected by hotels, timeshares, and lodging facilities and is payable via cash only. Travelers will be able to see the tax charge in their hotel bill at check-in or check-out.
